To provide quality education to learners in Grades 4-7, ensuring the effective implementation of the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) aligned with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) professional teaching standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of learners.
- Create a positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Assess learner progress regularly and provide timely feedback.
- Prepare learners for formal assessments.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies and resources.
Curriculum Implementation:
- Adhere to the CAPS curriculum guidelines.
- Develop and implement relevant teaching materials.
- Participate in curriculum planning and development.
- Stay updated on educational trends and best practices.
Learner Support:
- Identify and address the learning needs of individual learners.
- Provide support and guidance to learners.
- Foster positive relationships with learners and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support learner progress.
Professional Development:
- Actively engage in professional development opportunities.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions.
- Reflect on teaching practices and seek continuous improvement.
Administrative Duties:
- Complete administrative tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress and attendance.
- Contribute to school improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE)
- SACE registration
- Experience in teaching the Intermediate Phase (Grades 4-7)
- Strong understanding of the CAPS curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using technology in education
